Wessex LR Step Lifts

We recently installed this Wessex LR 800 platform lift outside a residential property in Southampton. The LR range of platform lifts can be easily converted to a step lift by adding an innovative bridging device which enables access for wheelchairs users when up to 4 steps are present.

A host of options are available including a choice of special colours and floor finishes, isolation key switches, side in-fill panels, travelling safety barriers and power operated gates.

Step Lifts

Short rise vertical platform lifts, also known as low rise step lifts, are often the only viable solution to provide disabled access to properties with a short run of stairs. Used in many public buildings and domestic properties, step lifts are highly configurable according to site demands, and can be built to blend in with existing surroundings if aesthetics are a priority.

These pictures show a recent domestic installation completed by Dolphin. The lift is a low rise step lift manufactured by Wessex Medical. Step Lift prices vary according to site demands and building requirements, most lifts for domestic properties tend to cost between £5000 and £7000.

Through Floor Lifts

Dolphin Lifts supply and install through floor lifts manufactured by 3 companies. Wessex Medical, Pollock Lifts and Terry Lifts. Dolphin have chosen these manufacturers because they each produce lifts which have a unique selling point. For example, the Pollock lift can have a side hung cabin which can be very useful if space is tight.

The term through floor lift is used to describe a domestic lift for the elderly or disabled which goes through the floor from a downstairs room to an upstairs room. They are often referred to as Wheelchair Lifts or Home Lifts. Through floor lift prices start from around £8300 although costs can vary according to options required and the extent of any building work.

Domestic Wheelchair Lifts

Dolphin Lifts can supply domestic wheelchair lifts, sometimes known as home lifts, from 3 manufacturers. This choice enables Dolphin to recommend the right equipment for each client’s needs without compromising on quality or safety.

 Pollock Wheelchair Lift

The Pollock Wheelchair Lift is available with a traction drive system with a capacity of 178kg or a hydraulic drive with a capacity of 230kg. Pollock is the only manufacturer with the option of a side-hung configuration, although this results in a weight capacity of 158kg.

Wessex Wheelchair Lift

The Wessex Wheelchair Lift is available in three platform sizes and can achieve a maximum travel of 3.5m. As with all of our home lifts, In the event of power failure emergency back-up systems operate the door, light and alarm, and lower the lift to the ground.

Terry Harmony Wheelchair Lift

The Terry Harmony Wheelchair Lift is available with a range of trim colours and special car sizes in wheelchair model 200mm longer, 150mm wider or both.
